Jesse Maule was born in 1973, in sunny Southern California. Raised on Saturday morning cartoons, comics, and an occasional visit to fine art museums, he began his art career at the tender age of 16. His musical tastes gave way to designing flyers and merchandise for local SoCal bands. High school progressed to college, where he was able to refine his artistic skills by producing medical illustrations for pre-med students and faculty. Already having an inclination for illustrative work, in the mid 90's he found the art of tattoos. The focus and reinterpretation of tried and true designs fascinated him and spurned him to try his hand at derma-graphics.
He is known for his imaginative take on designs. An eye for color and a penchant for the obscure, his attempt is to create every day. His sketchbooks, for him, are visual diaries. A man of few words (until you get to know him), he choses to let his work speak for him.
Jesse Maule still lives in Southern California, along with his wife (Melissa), 2 children (Ethan and Emma) and a bratty cat by the name of Poe.
